Reporting to the Manager System Performance, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical and administrative supervision to designated staff and services.
Temporary Full-time
1-year contract
- Provide direct clinical supervision and complete documentation on supervision sessions to assigned front line staff.
- Ensure service delivery adheres to professional standards recognized by the related Ministry, Accreditation, Quality Assurance and applicable professional disciplines.
- Provide direct clinical service to children, youth and their families, when required, to support front line staff.
- Develop and implement innovative evidenced informed programming to meet client needs, in consultation with the Manager.
- Respond to complaints by clients or staff in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
- Discuss professional development opportunities.
- Provide coaching and mentoring.
- Conduct file audits and ensure the proper storage of records for the purposes of client confidentiality.
- Chair staff meetings and deliver in-services.
- Complete documentation on clients as required
- Provide the Manager with operational information, community needs and advice regarding service direction as requested.
- Provide leadership and participate on internal and external agency committees.
- Participate in strategic planning and other agency planning activities.
- Participate in relevant research activities and program evaluation.
- Participate in annual performance evaluations.
- May also take lead role or participate in special projects and perform
other related duties as assigned.
- Represent the agency in the community to facilitate collaborative relationships.
- Participate on local community planning committees related to children’s mental health issues.
- Contribute to community education through presentations to professionals and community groups.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Honours Bachelor Degree in social work or psychology or Bachelor of Arts Child and Youth Care or other related human services honours degrees is required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the provision of clinical services to children and their families.
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience.
- Membership in the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario is mandatory.
- Familiar with evidence informed practices, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
- Excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and openness.
- Demonstrate supervisory and mentoring skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent clinical assessment and therapy skills.
- To be competent and sensitive to cultural differences in the organization and within the community.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in oral and written communication skills in both official languages (English and French) is preferred.
- Regular travel within the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin is expected.
- Must have a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
