Compass is excited to announce the Brighter Minds Mental Health Bursary. This bursary provided through donations to Compass’ Charity Fund is designed to support youth with lived mental health experience that are enrolled in a local post-secondary institution to reduce financial barriers in reaching their full potential.
This year, Compass is providing $2,500 to two local youth who:
- will be a full-time student in good standing enrolled in a public college or university within the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin for the 2024/25 academic year;
- be under the age of 25;
- demonstrate financial need;
- have lived mental health experience; and,
- commit to growing mental health awareness during the bursary term.
Applications for 2024 are closed.
Note: applicants related to Compass staff or Youth Advisory Council are ineligible to apply for the bursary. If successful, applicants will be required to provide proof of enrollment. Applications will be evaluated by Compass’ Youth Advisory Council.
The Brighter Minds Mental Health Bursary fund relies heavily on donations from generous individuals, organizations, and community groups. These contributions provide essential financial support for students who might otherwise be unable to afford their education. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a crucial role in helping to cover tuition fees, purchase necessary study materials, and alleviate other educational expenses. By supporting the bursary fund, donors are investing in the future of students and empowering them to achieve their academic and professional goals.
